Tasty Cooking Times

We are loving cooking hour with Jelly! (Kind of fitting, by the way...that she goes by Jelly and teaches our cooking classes, don't you think?) Every week we welcome our new parents who are attending for the first time! Thanks so much for coming, it just wouldn't be as much fun without you here. And for those who could not make it, here is a tasty treat to make with the kids. It is also quite fitting for the fall season!

Apple Crisp
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Total Time: 50 Minutes
Makes 6 Servings

4 Medium tart cooking apples, sliced (4 cups)
3/4 C. packed brown sugar
1/2 C. Flour
1/2 C. Oats
1/3 C. Butter, softened
3/4 tsp. cinnamon (if you are a cinnamon lover like me, add a little more!)
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
Cream or ice cream, if desired (of course it's desired! Ya kidding?)

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan.
2. Spread apples in pan. In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients except cream until well mixed; sprinkle over apples.
3. Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced wth a fork. Serve warm with cream!

Tasty, warm, and easy. Happy beginning of fall everybody!! And don't forget, we hold weekly cooking hour every Thursday at 12:30. Our classes are child-friendly, so bring the kids along. :-)
